Memory foam

MEMORY FOAM – WHAT IS IT AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

Originally, memory foam, also known as lazy foam, was invented for NASA space missions to equalize the tension in cosmonauts’ seats during spacecraft launches. Today this innovative technology is available to everyone. It is used in mattresses, orthopedic inserts and specialized sleeping pillows.

The purpose of preventive pillows made of thermoelastic foam is to reduce tension and pressure and distribute it over the largest possible body surface. Thanks to this procedure, the body is placed in the correct position, which prevents the formation of bedsores and improves blood circulation.

ADVANTAGES OF MEMORY FOAM PILLOWS

  • It reduces muscle tension and evenly distributes body weight
  • It maintains the correct position of the spine and improves blood circulation
  • It adapts perfectly to the shape of the body, regardless of the sleeping position
  • Prevents the formation of pressure sores
  • Made of the best materials, hypoallergenic
  • It prevents tension in the neck, shoulders, head, legs and spine

  • Corrects posture during sleep
  • It ensures free air flow and prevents the formation of moisture and the growth of bacteria
  • The additional function of aromatherapy prevents insomnia

HOW IT WORKS

Memory foam consists of millions of open cells that adapt to us under the influence of pressure and body temperature, thanks to which we feel comfortable and relaxed, regardless of the sleeping position. The foam is sometimes called ‘lazy’ because, depending on its thickness, the effect of sinking into the pillow may be faster or slower. The thermoelasticity of the foam makes it react to body temperature and change its hardness, and when we put our head on the pillow, we can experience a slow immersion in it, like in a cloud.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU REPLACE THE PILLOW?

Pillows made of memory foam should be replaced every 2 – 3 years, so this is a long period of daily use. Please note that these types of pillows should not be washed in a washing machine because they do not release water – it is not a sponge! You should avoid sleeping on the pillow with damp hair, and it is worth changing the pillowcase once a week, remembering to use pillowcases that are preferably cotton or silk.
