An average person who buys a cosmetic product at the chemist does not read the label with the ingredients, simply placing it in the cart based on attractive packaging and a pleasant aroma. This is a major mistake that may significantly harm your health. It is a good idea, then, to take some time to learn about the ingredients that have a negative effect on your skin and that can frequently be included in conventional body care product but will never be found in natural cosmetics. Reading the label is critical if you don’t want to be cheated by the manufacturer who advertises their product as being natural and if you want to know which substances are harmful to your health.

You won’t find any of the following in genuinely natural cosmetics:

  • SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulfate) – an aggressive detergent, very popular in conventional cosmetics. It is used for fast and effective cleansing by producing large amounts of foam. It is a strong irritant. It irritates, dries out and damages the lipid layer of your skin. It is used in rinsing products, primarily in shower gels and shampoos.
  • PARABENS (methyl-, propyl-, butyl- and ethylparaben) – chemical preservatives used in cosmetics, drugs and food products. They may cause long-term irritation of your skin as well as various allergies. They are absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream, exerting estrogenic effects.
  • PHTHALATES – salts and esters of the phthalic acid. They are used as so-called plasticisers, i.e. substances that make various materials more elastic. They are used in hair sprays, creams and face masks. They contribute to hormonal disorders and harm your kidneys, liver and lungs. They are particularly dangerous to pregnant women.
  • MINERAL OILS – oil distillation products. They create the “moisturised” effect but they actually clog the pores and hinder skin metabolism. They also accelerate ageing and the development of anaerobic bacteria causing chronic acne.
  • GMO – substances from genetically modified crops. It has not been confirmed if they are entirely safe to your health.
  • COLOURING AGENTS – because they may contain compounds and heavy metals that are toxic to the body. They are used in cosmetics to improve their appearance and make the aroma consistent with the colour.
  • ARTIFICIAL FRAGRANCES – substitutes of natural fragrances that are cheaper to produce. They may irritate your skin and cause allergies. They can penetrate into your skin, contributing to new diseases. Some of them are carcinogenic.

When you select Kropla Zdrowia cosmetics, you can rest assured that you won’t find any of the substances listed above. You will also not have to carefully read the INCI label because in natural cosmetics the manufacturer frequently informs you that the product does not contain specific chemical substances on the front side of the packaging.
